I was particularly excited to see the Nepalese Gurkhas, one of the most fabled units of the war, finally making their appearance. I bought COH2 to make the experience complete, but only bought it because it was on sale.In service to this philosophy, Company of Heroes 3 will have a greater diversity of infantry units than the series ever has, representing many different tactical roles and the wide array of nationalities that participated in the Italian campaign. If I were to buy my first COH-game I would go for COH1 with all dlc. In COH2 it is vissible: much easier to identify the correct squad.

In COH1 you have to remember which squad you gave which number: it is NOT vissible in the squad-tag. I like to bind different squads together and assign them a quick number. Multiplayer of both games is still very much alive. Menu: the game menu in COH1 is much cleaner. I like the admosphere in COH1 a bit better. But that is what it was like for the Russian soldiers: they actually were meat to die for the motherland. Atmosphere: in COH1 I care much more about my troops. Campaign COH2: just played the Stalingrad map: it seems accurate.

all dlc it follows the liberation of Europe pretty close. Campaign: COH1 is pretty accurate I think. COH2 not so much: I have to turn down several options and tweak things to get it running smoothly and still making it look good - that's a draw-back for me. COH1 runs smooth on max settings on my rig. Especially since I downloaded and use "Close to historical skins" which include hd textures for COH1.
